Optical disk For Mobiles

Seeing as cellphones are usually connected to mobile networks, we’d think the problem of content distribution would basically solve itself, but a company called Vmedia Research is at Mobile World Congress with a new type of optical disk designed just for phones. Using a blue laser, a 1GB, 32mm MiniDisc-esque Vmedia cartridge can hold a full DVD-res movie using H.264 compression, as well as limited special features. Vmedia’s demoing the tech on an upcoming Spice GSM handset, which has a 2.8-inch screen and a PSP UMD-like door for inserting the disks. Here is yet another mobile phone wristwatch. The Epoq Quad-Band GSM wristphone!

The new wristphone measures 52 x 41 x 13 mm and weighs 70g.

You see, before, I am still not convinced that watches and cell phones should be combined. But as you read before, this is an amazing gadget from Epoq. It has some features like 50m water resistance, as well as analog OLED display, MP4 video support, 1.3 mp camera, mp3/wma audio support, and kinetic recharge system that converts the wearers motion to energy to recharge the two included interchangeable Li-ion batteries. A whole lot of tech but wait you haven’t seen the price yet. Definitely a must have!
